Compassionate Neighbours is a project delivered by Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice alongside seven other Hospices throughout London and the surrounding suburbs.
Compassionate Neighbours are volunteers who have taken part in training at the Hospice. Many of them go on to be matched with someone in their own local area who is lonely or isolated and/or is nearing the end of life through age or illness. They visit for around an hour a week – getting up to all kinds of things!
The project welcomes anyone who would like to help: our Compassionate Neighbours range in age from 19-94 and many work full-time, visiting in the evening, weekend or on weekdays when they are available

service
Sometimes we all need someone to talk to and often it can be helpful if this is not a close family member or friend. Carers are no exception – most spend their whole lives worrying about and caring for another person and sometimes their own needs can be forgotten.
service
Bexley Buddies is a volunteer-led initiative that addresses non-medical needs within GP surgeries and the wider community. This program is developed in partnership with GP practices by providing patients with access to meaningful, community-based activities that enhance health and wellbeing.
