What is this service?

Compassionate Neighbours is a project delivered by Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice alongside seven other Hospices throughout London and the surrounding suburbs.

Compassionate Neighbours are volunteers who have taken part in training at the Hospice. Many of them go on to be matched with someone in their own local area who is lonely or isolated and/or is nearing the end of life through age or illness. They visit for around an hour a week – getting up to all kinds of things!

The project welcomes anyone who would like to help: our Compassionate Neighbours range in age from 19-94 and many work full-time, visiting in the evening, weekend or on weekdays when they are available
