Guides is a relaxed, welcoming space where you can have fun, learn and be yourself with good friends from 10 to 14 years old. A place where you can explore the things you love and do stuff you’ve never done before. Where else can you think up a new sport, make a new perfume, cook over a campfire...

Guides follow our programme. In unit meetings, you’ll do fun activities, play games and earn skills builder badges, all while being supported by our trained volunteers.
You could get skills builder badges in themes such as camping, communication and first aid. And if you want to take guiding home, there’s lots of interest badges to do in between unit meetings, like the craftivism badge, fixing badge and whittling badge.

Many units split girls into small groups called patrols for some activities and, as you get older, you’ll have a chance to become a patrol leader. You could also try out the Guide camp permit, become a Rainbow or Brownie helper with a local unit and inspire our youngest sections, or become a member of Amplify, who help staff and senior volunteers make decisions about the future of Girlguiding.
Guides meet once a week in the evening during term time in venues across the borough.
Guides usually wear a uniform top and jacket and clothes suitable for being active in.
Guides will have a record on our central database which is managed by their parent/carer. The Unit Leader will also access this record and use it to update Guide programme process and also to update details about the Guide. Unit Leaders contact parent/carers by email and in some instances, by WhatsApp.

This is a free skills building workshop -particularly around sewing and fabric recycling for young people of all background and abilities. We run the activity at various community hubs. So if you miss one, you can get onto another. Just reach out.

Bexley Voice run various free parent carer workshops throughout the year on a variety of Special Educational Needs & Disability topics. These workshops are for parent/carers who live in Bexley or if their child attends a Bexley School.

SEN sessions are unstructured gymnastics play incorporating gymnastics equipment, soft play shapes and a bouncy castle. These sessions are specifically designed for SEN children and their families, with smaller session sizes and no music.
