1-1 Befriending Services

With our 1-1 Befriending Service our friend is visit people at home on a regular basis for a friendly chat. This helps combat social isolation and loneliness. We offer befriending over the long and short term. You may live in your own home, sheltered accommodation or a care home.

  • 61 - 64 years
  • 65 - 69 years
  • 70 - 79 years
  • 80+

Housing

  • must live alone and not in a care facility.

What is this service?

Our befriending service provides an older person with a link to the outside world and often acts as a gateway for other services and valuable support.

Our face to face service offers dedicated support in-person or on the phone to an individual who may be unable to leave home due to chronic illness or long-term disability.

Between the out of 10:15 and 3:45 PM Monday to Friday Am I eligible for a Befriender?

  • I am over 60 years of age.

  • I feel lonely and would like somebody to talk to.

  • I live in the Bexley borough.

  • I'm not receiving any support from any other befriending service.

NB: the befriending service does not replace a care service, we are unable to provide support in the community,shopping or a cleaning service.

What we offer?

  • Weekly Telephone Calls
  • Visits in the client's home (whether this be their own property, sheltered accommodation or a care home)
