Age UK Bexley runs a walking group based in Danson Park. Join us to meet new people and keep active at the same time!
The session is led by volunteers and will go at a pace suitable for the whole group. After each walk the group will go for a chat over tea or coffee. Our walking group is free to attend.
Please note, all new clients need to be registered with Age UK Bexley before attending the walk. Where possible, the group will split into two smaller groups to complete a longer and shorter route around the lake. Afterwards, everyone meets up at Danson Stables for tea or coffee.
To register your interest in joining, please call our main office on 0208 300 0883 or fill out our online form (On “Service Required”, please select “Active Living”).
Criteria for the Walking Group: Although the walks are gentle strolls, please note: Walkers will need to be able to walk for 45 minutes without long breaks. Our volunteers can also not handle any clients and all clients will need to be able to walk unaided by a person. Walkers need to be able to have the mental capacity to travel to and from the walk by themselves. If a client needs support to get to and from home safely, we may request they need to be supported on the walk by a family member, friend, or carer.
Our volunteers are there to guide the walks, we cannot be responsible for getting clients home safely. Unfortunately, dogs are not welcome on our community walks, except for assistance dogs.
